H. N. Pillsbury •p.-ayed fourteen gameß at one time at the Metropolitan Club, London. The distinguished American gave the odds of Xt, and won eleven, lost two, and drew one. Lasker has offered to play in the course of next year a match for the championship of the world either with Pillsbury or with Tschigorin.
