Mr J. E. Henry, the C.J.C. handicapper, left Wellington yesterday for Christchuroh. Mr Arenas returned from Dunedin by last night's express. The Hons. J. T. Peacock and W*. Montgomery returned from Wellington by the Hinemoa yesterday. By tha same steamer there returned Messrs Russell, Buddo, W. H. Montgomery, Joyce and Saunders, M.H.R.'a. The Hon. W. H. Reynolds and Mra Reynolds wero passengers for the South by yesterday's express. The Hon. J. MacGregor was a passenger by the same train. Messra A. Morrison, A. McNab, Earnshaw, Duncan, Allon, and T. Mackenzie went South by yesterday's express. Mr R. Allen, Timaru, came to Christchurch by last night's express. The Hon. L. Walker, M.L.C., came by the same train. Mr and Mrs T. D. Harman returned to Christchurch yesterday. Mr and Mrs G. E. Rhodes, Ellesmere, are staying in town. Mr and Mrs Duncan Cameron came to Christchurch yesterday. Mr and Mra George Mcßae. Glens of Tekoa, came from tha North yesterday. Mr J. Murchison, Lake Coleridge, was in town yesterday. Mr and Mrs T. Baaiett returned from Timaru yesterday. Mr S. Bradley, Auckland, went to Ashburton yesterday. Mr and Mrs C. Dalgety, Burnham, are staying in town. Mr David Peat, from Wanganui, ia in Canterbury.
