NEW ZEALAND POULTRY ASSOCIATION.

A special general meeting of delegates to the New Zealand Poultry, Pigeon, and Canary Association was held last night in the Christchureh Fanciers' Club room. The delegates present were—Messrs J. Rose, A. L. Myers (Dunedin), W. G. Beunielberg, S. C. Kesteven (Christchureh), F. Rogen, E. B. Briatow (Wellington), A. Walker, M. Donohue (Auckland), A. Gapes (Nelson), J. T. M. Hornsby, G. Andrews (Southland), E. Stevens, A. Walker (Ashburton), C. Lafferty (Sydenham). Mr A. L. Myers occupied the chair. The meeting was called at the request of the Dunedin Fanciers' Club to re-consider the decision of the Association meeting at Wellington re championship trophies. Mr Laffert." moved—" That the decision of the Wellington meeting be upheld." Mr Dokohue seconded the motion. 'Mr Hornsbv moved—" Tha.Jt is in the best interests of the Association that tbe Dunedin Fanciers' Club be placed on the same footing re winning championship as the Christchureh Club, i.e., that the prizes be won on the first judging instead of twice." Mr Andrews seconded the amendment, which was carried after a lengthy discussion. Mr Andrews moved—•*'That thirty medals be given, at the next championship meeting." Mr Rose seconded the motion, which was carried. On the motion of Mr Kesteven, seconded by Mr Rogen, the medals were divided as follows :—Sixteen to the poultry, ten to the pigeons and four to the canary classes, to be allotted as under. In the poultry classes to the best cockerels of the following breeds: —Game, Spanish, Dorkings, Leghorns, Cochins, Brahmas, Miuorcas, Langshan and Orpingtons, Polish and Houdan, Andalusian, Wyandotteß, Hamburgs, game bantams, any other variety bantams, Pekin and Aylesbury drake, Rouen and any other variety . In pigeons the medals were allotted to birds rung with the New Zealand 1895 1896 ring, as follows :—Carriers, barbs, and dragons ; short-faced tumblers, clean-legt-ed long-faced tumblers, featherlegged tumblers, Jacobins, Antwerps shortfaced, Antwerpa long-faced, fantails, owls, tnrbits, and Oriental frills. The tenth medal was allotted for any other variety of pigeon not mentioned above. The four medals for canaries were allotted as follows: Norwich plain head, Norwich crested, Scotch and Belgian, any other variery. Mr Hornsby moved—"That the Secretary call for tenders for the manufacture of the medals." Mr Roukn* seconded the motion, which was carried. The opinion was expressed by the meeting that it would be well if the Dunedin Fanciers' Club secured outside judges for their show. The question of pigeon coops for next season waa left in the hands of Mr Briatow, Secretary of the Hew Zealand Pigeon Asso- ; ciation. The meeting then terminated.
