Acceptances for the Napier Park Meeting close to-day. A private cable message from Melbourne, received in Christchureh yesterday, states that Mr Gollan's New Zealand Cup pair (Sternchaser and Bessie Macarthy) were shipped at Melbourne for New Zealand on Wednesday, in the s.s. Wakatipu. Tha rainfall on Wednesday night was welcomed iSy trainers, but the ploughed gallop was not opened to them yesterday morning, work being confined to the sand track, upon which, however, medium pacing waa got through. Impulse was amongst those out before breakfast. He appears in forward condition, a trifle light perhaps on account of having come off a sea trip. Mr George Cutts came down with the son of St. Leger and Aida, and will remain at Riccarton for a time, when he will resign charge oi Impulse to his brother and return to Auckland, where hia duties as starter require him to be at the second Spring Meeting of the A.R.C.
