The season was opened with a Club match, Fifteen v Club. The Club batted first with thirty-tour men, who made a total of 95. A. Lawrence shaped very well with 15. Several others showed good material. The 15 at call of time had made 12 for nine wi:kete, Turner 12, Barker 10, Grammer 7 not out. Bowling—For the Fifteen, Turner took twelve wickets for 15 (hat trick), Halley cix for 0 (missing the hat trick by one ball), Wright four for 8, Malone and Treloar three each. For the Club, H. Rowe bowled really well, taking six for 22, Stephens three for 14. There waa a goodly number of spectators.
