VEXATIOUS DELAY.
Owing to the apathy of the Upper House, the Tariff Bill did nob pass that Chamber on Saturday as waa expected. G. L. Bea&h and Uo. have therefore to claim the indulgence of the mauy who were disappointed on Friday and Saturdaj- last at not being able to purchase the advertised prints (10,006 yards at 2|d to 6£d). To have taken them out of Bond at the old duty would havt resulted in a heavy losa, as the new dub> means a saving of 15 per cent, to the con Burner. About 40 cases of the shipment, including general drapery, millinery, mantles, Sec., are now marked off, and, it we may jadge by the vast throngs that have visited G. L. E. and Co.'b warehouse during the post few days, the time will be well spent in looking over the beautiful goods displayed. The prints will be opened up and ready for sale ob Wednesday next. 5599
