Sydney, August 31. The Gulf of Lyons shipped 100 horses of all classes, from heavy draughts to ponies, with a view to testing the London market. Adelaide, August 81. The annual report of the Minister of Agriculture states that the butter export trade is having an important effect in expanding the dairy industry, and butter factories are spreading in all parts of the colony. The dairying zone is rapidly extending and also had a good effect on other industries. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Limited, have received the following cable message, dated London, August 30th :— Frozen Meat—Mutton market i 3 weak. Canterbury mutton is worth 4d per lb. (Last quotation was 4£d per lb.) Lamb—Market is quiet. Prime New Zealand lambs are worth per carcase 4£d per lb. (Last quotation was 4§d per lb.) Tallow —There is a fair demand. New Zealand fine mutton is worth 23s 6d per cwt. (Last quotation was 23s 3d.)
