«». Miss Dixon, daughter of Mr Marmaduke Dixon, of Eyrewell, is staying in town with Mrs J. B. Downes, of Merivale. Messrs W. O. Rutherford, W. Thomson, and A. Maofarlane were passengers into town last night by the north train. Mr C. H. Chavannes, of Wanganui, arrived from the North yesterday. Mr L. De Pelichet, from Mangatarata, Hawke's Bay, is a visitor to Canteibury. Messrs Hill, Louisson and Barnett are returning from Wellington by the Takapuua. Mr E. F. Yule was in Ashburton yesterday. Mr and Mrs Alexander Mcllwraith went to Rakaia yesterday. Airs Secretan returned from Ashburton yesterday, Mr Duncan C-tneron, of Melhven, is in town. Mr Alexander McFarlane is in town. Mr Geo. Rutherford, of Dalethorpe, is in town. Mr Lindsay, of Timaru, came up by last night's express.
