FIRE.
(PEESS ASSOCIATION TEI-EQRAM.) HOKITIKA, August 1. A fire broke out in Kevell street at 5.30 o'clock this morning between the dividing walls of the Guardian office and the Golden Age Hotel. The flames were promptly Ejot under by the Briga.de, but some damage was done to both bui;diags. The Guardian jobbing stock was somewhat damaged bub the type and machinery escaped. There was also some slight damage to the hotel stock and furniture. The in&uvancus on the Guardian office are £200 on the building and £250 on the plant in the South British office; on the Golden Ago Hotel, £250 on the building in tho South British. Both were half reinsured.
