Mails close for the following places as under, subject to the necessary alterations : — THURSDAY, AUGUST 1. For Westport, per Orowaiti, at 10 a.m. ; late foe letters, 10.15 a.m.; guard's van, 10.55 a.in. train. FRIDAY, AUGUST 2. For Northern Ports, New South Wales and Queensland, per Turawera, at 3 p.m. ; lato fee letters, 5.15 p.m.; guard's van, 4 p.m. train. SATURDAY, AUGUST 3. For Australian Colonies, and alao fat United Kingdom r.nd Europe (specially addressed via Brmdisi), India, China, Japan, &c, per express, to connect with U.S. Talune at Port Chalmers, at 10.30 a.m.; late ice letters 10.40 a.m. ; mail van oa express, 11 a.m. train. Due London September 18th. WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 7. For United Kingdom, Continents of Europe and America, and West Indies (via San Francisco), Hawaiian Islands, and Samoi, and also for Northern Ports of New Zealand, per Takapuna, as follows :— Ordinary letters, 7.45 p.m. ; late fee letters, 8 p.m. ; books and newspapers, 7.30 p.m. ; money orders, 4 p.m. ; registered letters, 5 p.m.; guard's van, 9.15 p.m. train.
