Frequent falls of snow and hail, together with the muddy stale of the yards under foot, made matters anything bub pleasant for those whose business took them to the yaids to-day. Stou6 (ivTtLU—A few pens of two and thi'ee-ycavold steere and heifers, and. a number of store cows the entry. Business was lifeless, the only sorts to come in for any attention beiug young stock. Vigs —The entry was-made up principally of poriiera aud store, pigs. Baconers were in very poor supply, and this waa the means of incrcSafeiug cunipetition for them. Nearly every lot quickly changed hands at a decided improvement e£ ; ;late tjuotat-ions. Stores and porkera, however,' in con»parison with recent saisd, values having to be reduced- before' business could be eiiect-eu. Baconers made from 503 to 5Ss 6J. and porkers from 21s to 26a. Store Suesp—The yards were wall filled, but there was a decided want of forward sprts. Crossbred ewes and hoggets formed the bulk of the entry, only a small portion 01 which changed hands at public auction. Whatever sales were made were in favour of buyers., and many owners preferred withdrawing their stock and treating privately for them. Sis and eight-tootb crossbred ewes made 7s 4d, 9a 10d, and up to 10s, t\»3-tooth wethere up to 9s 6d, and hoggsta frbm 7s to 83 9d.
Fat Siteep.—AH the available "space was c&lied iuto requisition to accommodate the day's entry. A fair uambeco: well finished sheep were on offer, and for these competition was keen, prices being well up to late markets. Second-rate crossbred wethers and ewes did not receive as much attention at the bauds of buyers, prices Laving to weaken before Eal33 could be effected. Heavy weight crossbred-..wethers made 15s 3d, 17s 3d, aad up to 18i 9d, merinos up to 133 7d.
