WEDNESDAY'S PRODUCE REPORT.

(BY OITE COMMERCIAL EDITOR.)

For a Wednesday, ib has been rather a quiet day, the number of farmers in towu beiug apparently less than usual. No new features of interest havo been developed eineo our lasS advices, the markets being on the whole quiet and rather dull.

Wheat The Australian markets show a slightly firmer tone—the outcome of tho more favourable cable advices from London —and it is quite possible that prices may firm up hero somewhat if the steadier feeling in Europe continues to prevail. At present tho market here is norma], and values stand much the same as they did a fortnight since, transactions being of so occasional a nature that the m<ukefc is hardly affected either upwards or downwards.

Oats—No change has occurred, neither are there any fresh indications observable to affect the market;, cither towards enhanced values or the reverse. We quote Iβ Cd to Is 7d as being the value of good short feed, duns and Tartars, and Is 3d to Is 5d for inferior grades.

Beans -■ A few parcels have changed hands at 2s 3d and 2s 4d, and these prices represent current values. '

Peas—Very few offering. Values unaltered at 2s 4d to 2a 6d. .

Potatoes- Wo rngres being unable to chronicle any improvement. The market is dull and inoperative, and buyera seem to be quite averse to operating and it is difficult to sell jnst now. Nominally 22s 6d is value for Derwents.

Cuaff Unchanged, and market rather quieter at our last quotation of 55a to 565.

Seeds—Our last ({notations are unaltered, and buainess is rather slack owing to the inclemeno weather.

[These quotations, unless otherwise specified, are the net cashpricet paid id the producer free of brokerage or commission, and for delivery at country stations within a twenty-five mile radius of town. For delivery on board ship at Lyttelton add 2d to 2)>d per bushel}.
