Press Association— By Telegraph—Copyright i London, July 19. | Mr Asquith, late Home Secretary, j has been re-elected for East Fife by a i majority of 718. The sitting members have been returned for Barnard Castle, Horsham, Mid Glamorgan, South Monmouth, Wansbeck, Stafford, Bishop Auck- \ land, Chippenham, Ross (Hereford), and Holmfirth. The following members have been elected:—Mr Barnes (Conservative), Faversham; Mr Carmichael (Liberal), Midlothian, by a majority of 459 over Mr Dalrymple Stratt (Conservative) ; Mr Maldon Crips (Conservative), Stroud; Mr Philpott (Conservative), Torquay. The Liberal gains are Mr Hemphill, North Tyrone, Mr Fulford, Lid-field, and Mr Souttar, Dumfrieshire. The Conservative gains are Mr Malcolm, Suffolk N.W. Sir J. Pender (Conservative) beat Mr Spencer (Liberal) at Mid-North-ampton. It is alleged that 300 Parnellite voters at Newcastle were induced by treachery to plump against Mr Morley, thus enabling Mr Craddas to get in. When Mr Morley was leaving the station the crowd sang, " Will ye no comeback." Mr Morley was deeply affected. The Westminster Gazette considers the loss of Mr Morley's seat may be attributed to the candidature of Mr Hammil in the same interest, which divided the Liberal vote. The Socialists are obtaining a few hundred votes, chiefly in the factory and mining centres, but none of their candidates have been returned. Mr Dillon has been re-elected. For Wansbeck, Mr Fenwick, the sitting member, only defeated Mr Harris (Conservative) by 22. Mr Chaplin (Conservative) has been re-elected for Sleaford by 1900 votes. The following are additional election returns: —Mr Davis (Liberal) for Cardiganshire, Mr Keightley for Brigg division of Lincoln. The sitting members returned are—Mr Asher for Elgin district, Mr Mandeville for Tipperary South, Mr Gilliat for Widnes division south - west Lancashire, Mr McDermott for Kilkenny County. The following were re-elected unopposed;—Mr Young for Cavan East, Mr Sheehey, for Galway South, Mr O'Neill for Antrim (Mid), the Hon. E. Blake for Longford South, Mr Foley for Connemara. The Liberals gain Londonderry city, Mr Cox, already member for West Cavan, being elected. At a meeting of the North Walsham electors a lively scene took place. Lord Wodehouse, resenting some remarks made by the Unionist Chairman, pulled him off the platform and offered to fight him for £50. July 20. The sitting members were returned for the following seats: — Ramsey division (Hunts), Loughborough division (Leicester), Aberdeenshire" West. Durham North-west, Denbigh district, Kirkcudbrightshire, Ilkestone. -division of Derby, Ormskirk division of Southwest Lancashire, Rushcliffe division of Notts, Appleby division of Westmoreland, Cleveland division of Yorks, Norfolk East (Mr Price beating MiRider Haggard by a majority of 198). The following have been elected ; — Mr Griffiths (Liberal), for Anglesey ; Mr G. J. Goschen, for East Grimstead (a Unionist gain; Mr Pennant (Conservative), for Northampton South ; Mr Duncombe, for Eyremont division of Cumberland; Sir W. Gull, for Barnstaple Division of Devon; Earl of Dalkeith. (Conservative), for Roxburghshire ; Lord Campton for Biggleswade Division (a Liberal gain); Mr Reckett, for Brigg (not Keighley, as previously cabled). A Radical mob besieged.Mr Ridel? Haggard in his hotel at Gorleston, and fifty armed police were engaged in his rescue. The following sitting members were elected:—Mr Thos. Curran, Mr Wm. Redmond (unopposed), Messrs Edward Barry, T. Sexton, J. Hogan and Jas. Gilhooley and Colonel Waring. The following have been elected:— Mr MacLise (Anti-Parnellite), for Monaghan North (a Unionist gain); Mr Carlisle (Conservative), for Buckingham; Mr Morrell (Conservative), Woodstock; Mr Bathurst (Conservative) Cirencester, beating Mr Lawson; Mr Foster (Conservative), Lancaster; Mr Ohewing, Ayr. Borough; Mr Quinn, Glamorganshire South. The Liberals gain Mr Ure for Linlithgowshire. Up to the. present the totals areUnionists 348, Liberals 104, Parneilites 7, anti-Parnellites 51. July 21. The sitting members were returned for Montgomery, Somerset East, Isle of Wight, Dublin South, Oswestry, Merionethshire, Carmarthen, West Pembroke, St. Andrew's District, Flintborough, Sowesby and Tyneside. The following have been elected :— Mr Lloyd (Conservative) for Abingdon (a Unionist gain); Mj Finlay, for Inverness District; Mr Flannery, for Shipley ; Mr Hatch, for Gorton; Mr Ward, for Crewe. Mr G. W. Russell was defeated for Biggleswade. New Yobk, July 20. Mr Depew declares that the Americans are keenly alive over the English elections, and are almost unanimous in the belief that the Home Rulers cannot understand that the "federative principle will not apply to Great Britain. He, however, believes tha.i if the Irish parties were to re-unite they might attain autonomy.
