NORTHERN A. AND P. ASSOCIATION.
Thirty tnembors of this Association attended a general meeting held at the Road Board Office, Rangiora, on Friday. Mr W. Pearson was voted to the chair. Mr J. Lowthian Wilson moved and Mr C E. Skevington seconded—'• That the members of this Association express its regret on the absence of Mr H. F. Gray, President, and deeply sympathise with him on the eudden decease of his brother, the Hon. E. Gray, who, like himself, was an earnest supporter of agricultural societies and a breeder of high class stock." The motion was unanimously agreed to. Mr M. Macfablane moved a vote .of thanks to the retiring Secretary, Mr Templer. Mr T. M. McDonald seconded, and the Chairman supported, the motion, which was carried without dissent. . A letter was read from Mr W. Busa in respect of the report of the meeting in regard to the termination of the agreement with Mr Templer as Secretary, which said that Mr Templer's accounts were correct, and that the only reason for a change in the secretaryship was a wish that some one should be obtained who could give his close attention to the affaire of the Society. Mr T. McDonald, Mr J. Dobson, and Mr G. Luxbon approved of the letter written. The schedule oi duties for the Secretary was adopted, and five applications were received for the position. Mr A. S. Clarkaon was elected by twenty-six votes. The Ground Committee reported that the tenders sent in were not satisfactory, but that an offer sent in that day to lease the ground was likely to be accepted. A vote of thanks to the Chairman terminated the meeting. i
