FRIDAY'S PRODUCE REPORT.

tBY OCR COMMERCIAL EDITOR.) The very inclement weather ruling today has, as usual, made business exceedingly quiet, and nothing of much interest appertaining to grain and produce has bo be recorded, as far as we kuow. The week has been excessively dull and business of a hand-to-mouth nature. Speculation is almost dead, and the limits of the markets have been so restricted, and so many have been competing for what little is to be done, that until the trade is diverted towards foreign outlets to some extent we may expect a continued dullness. Wheat maintains the fairly steady poskion it has held of late, but we are uuable to record any improvement iv values.Local millers are still holdiog off, and the importations of Californian and Adelaide flour now arriving are tending to check their output. With a few exceptions the greater number of millers report having on hand stocks of wheat sufficient to last them for some time yet. Oats are a shade weaker and buyers are not inclined to continue on the level of recent quotations. Unless some early outside demand Beta in we fear values must ease down. Beaks are very dull and prices are already easier, and must relapse, we fear, to close upon values current earlier in the season. Peas are saleable at late quotations and are rather scarce. Good samples easily find buyers. Babley is unaltered and, there being no present demand, sales are hard to bring off. Chaff is a shade easier, in sympathy with Oats. ..'..■ Potatoes are exceedingly dull and prices weaker. Saw*—Tilt strera weather it hiaderioa
