TUESDAY'S PRODUCE REPORT.

(BY OUR CuMMERCIAT- EDITOR.) We were glad to notice by cable advices in today's paper a slightly healthier report resp-c ing the state of the Home markets. It may mean nothing, but any check to the recent continuous downward run must be hailed with .atisfaction. There is nothing new to report in respect to local wheat transactions. Where .o little is being done it is difficult to arrive at any details of interest, and as far as we can learn, what few sales have taken place within the past week have been on the baaio of prices already indicated, viz., 3s 2d to 3s 3_d for Hunter's, 33 3Jd to 3s 4d for Tuscan, and 3s 4£d to 3s 5d for Pearl. Oats, are very quiet again, and business is almost at a standstill. Good stout Canadians are the only variety at all asked for, and very little can be dune, seeing that sellers' ideas of value are ahead of what buyers are ready to give. Nominally valuestand at Is 6d to Is Bd. Barlet shows no improvement, and sales are difficult to effect. Beaks and Peas are not offering in any quantity, and values arc steady at 2s 3d to 2s 4d for the former and 2s 4d to 2s 4£d for the latter. Ciia__ is firm at Ssi to 57s 6d. Potatoes arc very weak, and the market shows no sign of present improvement. Evea the sevore weather we have lately been experiencing has made bo visible alteration in the trade, and Blocks already secured in the North Island seem to be ample for their immediate needs. Seeds—There is no change in values since our last quotations. Cocksfoot is steady and in good demand. Cou-graas is dull and not much wanted for the time being. [These quotations, unless otherwise apeeified, are the net cash prices paid to the producer free of brokerage or commission, and for delivery at country stations within a twenty five mile radius of town. For delivery on board ship at Lytteiton add 2d to 2_d per busliel}.
