After five weeks* hard fighting the final stage of this tourney, held nnder auspices of the Lanarkshire Draughts' Association to decide the championship of the connty, was reached on Saturday, May 11th, in Victoria Hall, 'Hamilton, the finalists being Messrs Claude Brown of Cambustang,and J. B. Kirkwood of Butherglen. Of the four decidintrgamesthree were drawn and Kirkwood won the fourth. Kirkwood is but a youth who will, no doubt, make his mark in the draughts ■ world.
