NEW SOUTH WALES POLITICS.

PEOGEAMME OF THE FEDEBAI. PAETY. Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright Sydney, June 28. The political camps are actively organising for the coming election. Sir Henry Parkes presided at a meeting of the Federal party this evening, at which a programme was adopted to make federation the constant and supreme object of political life in future, to foster the idea that a national Government should be invested with the sole power to impose Customs duties. Other planks adopted were the promotion of domestic legislation to advance th* internal interests of the colony, the abolition of patronage, combined with economy, in the Civil Service, and the prevention of the influx of inferioiF races. An explanatory note is added} that in the matter of taxation the accomplishment of federation will compel a resort to direct taxation for the purposes of the State Government in supplementation of the proportional sums received from the Federal Customs revenue. Meantime other matters of more urgency to meet the wants of the people demand immediate attention. A strong Committee was formed and decided to make federation the feature of the elections.

In the Assembly the loan estimates were passed after the item £260,000 for the extension of the railway from Cobar to Broken Hill had been struck out.
