~*. (PRSSS ASSOCIATION TELEGRAM). DUNEDIN, Juue 21. The Chamber of Commerce passed the following resolutions, which are to be forwarded to the Minister of Justice and other Chambers :— '* In the opinion of this Chamber any assignment of book debts ought to be void, unless such assignment is registered under the Chattels Transfer Act, 1879, which ought to be altered to enable such registration to be made." "That in the opinion of this Chamber it is essential, in the due administration of justice to all classes of the community, that all Dislrict Court Judges and Stipendiary Magistrates with extended jurisdiction should hold their appointments during good behaviour, with their salaries fixed by statute. 2 '
