SELWYN COUNTY COUNCIL.

An ordinary meeting of the Selwyn Council was held yesterday, when there were present Messrs D. McMillan (Chairman), Peryman, WesLenra, Murray, Gough, Boag, Rennie, and Dunlop. The Chai___k reported that since the last meeting correspondence had been received from the N.Z. Counties' Association in reference to the annual meeting to be held next month ; from the Kirwee Domain Board in reference to the appointment of members; tenders .or ■ letting out Lake Ellesmere and fpr leasing reserves; reporton water race and plantation matters. The Chairmai was appointed to represent the Council at the annual meeting of the Counties' Assoc ation. Consideration of any recommendatioiis to be brought before the Association was deferred till next meeting. The tender of Messrs Howsen and Cooper at £25 for letting out Lake Ellesmere was accepted. After dealing with water race and plantation matters tha Council adjourned.
