REVIVAL IN MINING.
The following Press Association telegram The revival in mining through the Hauraki district continues, and never in the history of these gpldfields ha 3 the industry been on was received yesterday from the Thames :— such a satisfactory basis. Iα numerous instances lodes of large dimensions, which were some years ago looked upon as valueless, have now been found to be highly remunerative, thanks to the introduction and gradual adoption of the cyanide process. As the result of this and the splendid returns now being obtaiued from Wai hi, Karangahake, the Thames and Goromandel, there ia quite a boom on, and the country has been pegged out in all directions, The results obtaiued at the Thames from the deep level carried on by the May Queen Compcny are really handsome. To-day sixty pounds of nioe specimen stone was secured, and the return for the present month will be about 700oz of gold, while next month will see even this nearly doubled. Everything thus points to the existence of rich gold at the great depth already attained at the Thams3. The May Qu3en sharea which a month ago stood at 4d 9d are now selling fi-eely at 10s.
