The s.s. Richmond brings news from Rarabonga thab an exhibition of native manufactures will be held shortly, and that the revenue for the' year will show a small surplus. WELLINGTON, May 25. Sir W. Buller being unable to represent the colony at the International Geographical Congress in Loudon,, the Government has asked Sir W. Jervois to act as bhe New Zealand delegate. Ab the Oddfellows' social Bishop Wallis said he was the bearer of greetings from a Cambridge Lodge, Manchester Unity, who proposed to establish a women's branch, and if the example was followed in Wellington Mrs Wallis desired to be admitted as a member.
At the funeral of the late Mr Grubb which took place bhis morning, there was a large and representative attendance. The officers of the Postal and Telegraph Department acted as pall-bearers. GISBORNK, May 25.
A preliminary enquiry into the stranding of the schooner Spray was held at the Customs House this morning. The evidence taken will be forwarded to the Marine Department.
