LADIES AT PARISH MEETINGS.

£ir John Hall lias given notice of motion in the Anglican General Synod that the femalo franchise shall be granted to members of the Church of England in New Zealand, and that they shall be entitled to rote at the parish meetings for the election of Church officer*, &% Three years ago at a largely attended meeting held iv a Canterbury parish, it was moved—" That it be a recommendation to the Synod that the words * members of the Church' and •parishioners' wherever used iuthe statutes and regulations of the Charch should include male and female commuuicants of adult age." There vras, if we remember correctly, a good discussion, but the motion was declared lost, tho mover only voting for it. It remains to be eeea if Sir John Hall's motion carries the matter a step further.
