Esparto showed fair pace, but be once mere called a halt In the middle of the journey; this interval game of his seems to be a habit. Arllne dashed off four furlongs in the style of a racehorse. Hippomenes and Outpost were not extended at their task, being a twomile brink canter. Cactus went a mile a> bit faster and moved freely. Revenge had the best of a mile spin with Brln, and Apology 11. and Changeling beat Alpenstock at six furlongs. Others that worked -were Maximilian, whose preparation has been interrupted by a cold, JRebsl, Tempest, Smuggler and Etnmellne. All but Smuggler worked on the course, which cad up after the recent rain.

The protest entered against the horse Kelpie being awarded the stakes for the Lancaster Handicap at the L.P. A.T. Club's recent meeting was exhaustively considered by the Committee last night at a meeting held at Coker's Hotel, It was decided that the stakes should be awarded to Mr "A. FishY horse. Payments amounting to £399 were passed. The Secretary was authorised to take certain preliminary steps in the direction of introducing a free-for-all scratch race of one mile at the meeting to be held about Easter, or at the succeeding one.
