Trenwith, one of the Labour members, moved that, , in order to prevent sweating in connection with Government! contracts, it was.the duty of the Government to prescribe a minimum wage and state it in the contracts. The motion was accepted by the Government and carried without dissent. .. " Tbe Land Act Amendment.Bill and Bill have been discharged from tbe Order Paper. Tbe House meets specially oh Monday to deal with the railway rates on a motion for reduction by 25 per bent.
