Mr Lenoard has decided on adding Belligerent to the gelding liet, and has thrown him out of training for a time. He has been growing very fast and ha« gone up a good deal on the leg since being pdt into training last April. Belligerent is a quist, good tempered young%y«r, and will pay his way in time, but is not quite matured enough to go on with for two-year-old classic engagements. He has, moreover, been shin sore for some time.
Another of the sons of Artillery, the three-year-old Bangefinderfrom Lavender, is to be spelled. He was gelded on Friday last, and will be turned away for a time, and will not be tried agaio for some months. He will be found quite good enough for minor racing later on. Captain Popham will not race his filly Pop'em again as a two-year-old, but will keep her in his town stables, having her regularly exercised. When older, this filly may stay better. She Is fairly fast for a short distance.

Mr Klingensteln'a colt, Salvo Shot, by Chainshot—Rosebud, was one of several colts gelded during the week. Mr Horsford intends keeping his Apremont—Zelica two-year-old colt for stud purposes, and will put some of his own mares to him next season. He is reckoned the finest youngster Zelica has produced. H. Thomson rides work occasionally of a morning and will likely be seen more often in the saddle during the next few months. He will ride Pepita ac Hororata.
H. Thomson has just cut a field of dun oats at Enfleld estimated to yield all eighty bushels to the acre. B. Bay had his first ride over hurdles on Minerva at Kumara last week, and landed the daughter of Tekoa a winner. A good start this.
W. Brown and F. Barry got back from the West Coast on Saturday night. B. Derrett returned from Auckland on Sunday. Another lame one in T. Stewart's stable Iβ Thorpe, who broke down at Greymouch when running in the Hurdle Race there. It is thought that he would have pretty well cleaned the plate of the jumping races but for this contretemps. Minerva was not herself at the coast.
On Monday morning Georgie Sharp, after doing a gallop, pulled up very lame, kaving, it Iβ supposed, strained the muscles of her shoulder. She will not be able to run at Hororata to-morrow, indeed she will require a good spell before being raced again. Butler Informs mc that he will hot send Au Bevoir to Wellington, that horse having contracted a cold necessitating attention. A thickening of the glands of the thorax, very like a form of strangles, has been sufficient to stop him In his work.
