The barquentine Jasper, Captain Barton, arrived late ,on Monday evening and anchored iu the stream for the night. Yesterday morning she was brought to a berth at 5 wharf, where she is putting ont her Lytteiton cargo, which consists of 1600 bags of sugar. Messrs Sclanders and Co. are her agents. The brigantine Eliza Firth was taken round to Corsair Bay ou Monday and placed on the hard to have her bottom sighted. Early yesterday morning a stiff south-west gale sprang up, and as the bay is badly exposed to tbat wind it was found necessary to send the tug round to tow the vessel off tbe beach and into a place of safety. This was done, the brigantine being berthed at the Gladstone Pier.
