I»l On Saturday morning in the Counoil, the managers of the Conference on the Native Land Bill announced that they had oome to an understanding, tbe Baokruptoy Act was read a first time, the Fisheries and Post and Telegraph Department Bills were passed, as was the Pubiio Trust Offioe Consolidation BiU, the Wilson Land Bill was thrown out, and the Land and Income Assessment Act Amendment Bill was read a second time. The Counoil then adjourned tUI Monday morning. In the House of Representatives, after the Telegraph Offioe dosed, the Banking BUI was discussed at great length in Committee, but was passed at a little after 5 o'clock. In the afternoon, the-report of the Conference on the Native Land Court Bill was agreed to, aa were the Council's amendments to the Sea Fisheries and PubUc Trust Office Bills, tho report of the Conference on the Criminal Code BUI, several local Bills were passed, managers were appointed to confer with the Council on the Shipping and Seamen's Bill, and the House adjourned till 8 p.m. as a mark of reapeot to the Hon. P. Dignan, whose sudden death the Premier announced. In the evening, the report of the Committee on the Poraahaka purchase was discussed till close upon Sunday, when the debate was adjourned.
