WAIMAEARIRI ASHLEY WATER SUPPLY BOARD.
♦ This Board beld their ordinary meeting on Thursday, Mr O'Halloran (Chairman) and all thp other members being present. The Board resolved —" That as the Trnstees Act Amendment Act had flow passed both Houses, the Secretary be instructed to write to Mr Bell and request him to have the examination of the Board's rating power made and debentures drafted." A telegram was received from Mr Buddo, referring to other offers for the loan. It was resolved—"That the Board has already arranged to take the money from Mr Bell, and confirms the decision arrived at, and that Mr Buddo be thanked and informed accordingly. * It was resolved—" That in the event of che Colonial Secretary being of opinion that the special order subdividing the district into the Brown's Bock and Cooper's Creek subdivisions does not . require to be gazetted to comply with section 125 Counties Act, 1886 , mat the Secretary be instructed to forward the special order for insertion in the New Zealand Gazette." It was resolved—" That Messrs Ollivier and -Grien«on and Mr Joyce should be written'to and informed that the Board have accepted a loan of £3000," and that they hope to be in funds in a few weeks, when the matter of debentures will have immediate attention in accordance with the terms of Mr Joyce's letter of May 9th last. After dealing with matters in connection with the Bank's overdraft, and empowering the Chairman to communicate with the manager in connection therewith, the meeting terminated.
