At the last moment, before the adjournment, .he Premier amazed the House by stating that he would move the second readiDgof the Midland Railway BilL Sir Robert Stout wanted to know if the Premier desired to tool the House, and wished to know, if he was in order, when would tbe House prorogue. The Speaker ruled that no d_cti——_ could take place on a notice of motion, and called upon tha Premier to reply. Mr Seddon said that the House would prorogue when the business was got througn, at which there was ironical laughter. He added that he would not discuss thesubject to-night. He would give reasons for his motion .to-morrow. The Premier and the Canterbury party have come to an understanding, and speculation is rife as to where tbe tea. party are to come iv. The eno is not yet. The Minister for Lands, too, gave notice that the Pomahaka report be entered on the journals of the i£ouae. This means a big debate.
