." Sailed—Ovalau, for Fiji. Wkllikgton, September 13* The echooner Frank Guy, from Newcastle, arrived this afternoon. Captain McQuarrie reports leaving Newcastle on the 25th August. On September Ist he experienced a heavy gale, which increased iv fury. For three days the vessel was hove to, and her rudder carried away m the rudder case. This was 500 miles from Wellington. He rigged a temporary rudder with hawsers, bub this was of little avail, and, as the wind was fair, the schooner sailed on by herself. Within seventy miles of Cape Farewell the wind veered, and difficulty was experienced in putting the vessel about. She laboured heavily, but oil proved of great benefit. Eventually another jury rudder was rigged with success, and the port was reached. The Flora's departure is postponed until to-morrow. Arrived—Tasmania, at 7.45 a.m. ; Rotomahana at 8.45 a.m. from Lyttelton. Arrived—Graftoo, from Pioton, Nelson, and the West Coast. Sailed—Orowaiti, for Grey mouth ; Rotomahana, for Sydney, via Auckland and the East Coast. Haurota, for the South. Passengers— Misses Mitchell and Fenton, Meaoamea Cork and Fenton, Messrs Watson, MoKenzie, Lycutn, Thomson, Duthie, Fanthorn, Hollow, Gibson, Black well, Keacne, Cookcrof t, Crawford, and O'Sullivao.
