MAORI CURIOSITIES.
A very interestiug find of Maori curios (writes a correapoudeat of the Mount Ida Chronicle) was made in a cave on Sinclair's ran, FuUartbn'a, Hyde, by Mr K. A Mathewson. The articles found comprised chiefly Maori flax work, viz., a large piece of stuff woven out of flax fibre, which was wry ornamental, and evidently meant for a coiet s drees; a handsome piece of fringed flax-work artistically woven; a piece of made ouc of the same material • * Maori kit, beautitully worked, containing two hanks of twine quite equal in strength and evenness to twine made by maehi ,erv • in the kit was also a luudkercliief made out of the fibre of some plant.
