LAND BOARD.

An ordinary fortnightly meeting of the Canterbury Land Board was held oa Thursday, when there were present—Messrs J. W. A. Marchant (Chief Commissioner), D. McMillan, and A. C. Pringle. The following applications for land were granted :— Geo. Grice, section 6, reserve 350, Westerfield, 46a Sr 28p, occupation with right to purchase; VV. ; C. Hyde, section 1, block X\TUL, Lowry Peaks, 2850 acres, grazing farm; B. C Smith, section 41, block XL, Cheviot, 87a 2r, lease in perpetuity ; Thos. McDowell, aeclion 3631.5, Westerfield, 214 alr 12p, lease ia perpetuity. Several applications for freehold titles and for transfers of leases and licenses were dealt with. The Crown lands Rangers , report* were made and action was ordered to be taken with respect; to payments in arrears, &c, where necessary. A large amount of routine business was dealt with and the Board adjourned.
