GAS STOVES.
The luncheon which members of the Wesleyan Conference have partaken of almost daily for nearly a fortnight has been cooked in gas stoves lent by the Chriatchuroh Gas Company. Yesterday the Conference acknowledged the Company's kindness, and when the Secretary announced that the Rev. W. Morley would return thanks for gas there was a general laugh. The reverend gentleman pleaded the non-possession of the commodity over which the laugh had been raised, aud heartily moved the vote of thanks to the Compsny. He remarked that there had always beeu unanimity with respect to the proceedings at one o'clock— (laughter)—and after thanking the ladies for their excellent arrangements, , the thanks of the Conference were due to the Company, whese kindness had lightened their labours and lessened the expense, for the expense they had been actually put to was only the cost of the gas. H.e bore testimony to the excellence of the cooking, and presumed that after thia there \vould be a considerable run on the atovea. The Revs. Buttle, Bond and Dewsbury each supported the motion, which was, carried with applause.
