SPREYDON.
The monthly -meeting was held on Wednesday, March 7th. Present—Messrs D. Handisides (Chairman), J..W. Rogers and W. T. Oiiff. An apology was received from Mr Hocking. Correspondence — A letter from Inspector Broham enclosing a report from Constable Drake respecting an alleged nuisance of boys bathing in the Heathcote river on the boundary of this district, and stating that the nuisance was much abated. A memo, was read from Mr C. P. Hugonin re cleaning out creek ; also a letter from Drainage Board about the same, stating that the Board could not interfere. A letter from Mr J. T. Bell asking that Mrs William Henry Lynham's name be inserted on the roll in place of Mr F. Freeman. The Clerk was instructed to attend to.it. It was reported that a nuisance was* caused by water, &c., running from school.drain into Rosewarne street and flooding several of the ditches. It was moved aad seconded " That the clerk write to the chairman of School Committee and ask him to abate the nuisance." The clerk was instructed to write to Mr Donald, Rosewarne street, to cut his fence as it is extending over the path. The clerk was also instructed to write to the Riccartou Road Board, calling their attention to the bad state of the path on the Lincoln road during the late rain. It was resolved that the channel near the Black Horse Hotel be repaired. Mr Baretta and Mr Quick waited on the Board in reference to supplying metal when required for use on roads. The pay sheet, amounting to £139s 7d, was passed for payment. The meeting then closed.
