SCHOOL COMMITTEES.

The mouthiy meeting of the Tai Tapu Committee was held on Monday .evening. All members present except Mr Limbrick. Major Edmundson in the chair. After some discussion it was resolved that the school be not let for religious instruction during school hours. It was decided to close the school from March 20th to 27th for the Easter holidays. The masters report with absentee list attached was read and considered _irly satisfactory. A meeting of the Flaxton School Committee was held on Monday. Present—Messrs j. V. Chatterton in the chair, T. Pickard, T. H. Burrell, Duffull, and Dcydge. The master's report showed number on roll 104, average attendance 72. It was decided to request the police to take action re absentees.
