The Ashley County Eleven brought their Southern tour to a close on Saturday with a match against tho Ashburton Club, played on the Ashburton Domain ground. Teams representing Lancaster Park Paßfc and Present and the Midland and United Clubs tried conclusions at Lancaster Park on Saturday, when the latter won by 53 runs and two wickets on the first ihningß. The Lancastrians went in first, but only made 86, towards which total A. Ridley subscribed 28 and C. Ridley 13. Wigley took three wickets for 3 runs, and Robertson five for 64. The combined Clubs then went in, and at the call of time had made 139 for the loss of eight wickets, Jacobs contributing 42, Lawrence 27, Wheatley 24, Macfarlane 16 and Wigley 14. Labatt and Bates each took three wickets and Wilding two. The fielding was fair on both sides. The United aud Midland Thirds' President's Cup teams commenced a match at Lancaster Park on Saturday, and when stumps were drawn United had made 255 for eight wioketß (Gardner 81, Tapper 65. Wilson 30, not out, asd G. Weston 13.) Neither ths bowling nor the fielding of the Midland was up to the average. A mixed team of Lancaster Park Juniors met Amberley at the Park on Saturday, the result being a decided victory for the country team. The scores were—Amberley 103 and 113 for nine wioketa (Garrard 32 and 68, Banks 26, Wornall 16, Morton 13, Mason 11, Baird 10); Lancaster Park 55 (Smith 20.) Garrard's batting was the feature of the afternoon's play, his strokes were all clean and well timed, and he did not give a chance. t For Amberley, Morton took six wickets for 25 runs, Adams two for 27, Garrard one for none. For the Park Smith two wickets for 84, Hasell four for 22, and Johnson five for 67, were the most successful bowlers.

At St. Albans on Saturday a team from Messrs Williams, Stephens and Co. defeated a combined team from the firm of R. W. England and John Waller and Co. Scores —Williams, Stephens and Co. 181 (S. MoMurray 96, Grose 19, Lancaster 19, Keats 18. Combined team 38 (E. Waller 30 and 41, W. Waller 16.) The bowling of McMurray and Keats was too good for tbe losers. The wicket keeping of Matson and Stewart was excellent.
