The sailing of the New Zealand Shipping Company's cargo steamer Duke of Sutherland is still further postponed from yesterday till this afternoon. She is waiting for a consignment of frozen mutton that has not yet come to hand. The fine ship Maxwell, which cleared at the Customs for Newcastle, went out into the stream yesterday morning. When she came to trip her anchor it was found to be foul of the cable of the steamer Duke of Sutherland and considerable time was lost while the cable was being unshackled and cleared. She took advantage of the southerly breeze that came up about noon and sailed in the evening. After waitiug in the stream for a few days for a change of wind, the brigantine Falcon got away yesterday for Havelock before a vice south-west breeze. The ketch Clematis also sailed yesterday afternoon for the same port. The s.B. Rotokico arrived yesterday from Wellington about noon. The steamer Flora, Captain Bernech, arrived from Wellington yesterday afternoon, ■ and went on to Dunedin in the evening. The steamer Pukaki anived from Timaru yesterday morning., The schooner Gleaner, Captain Connolly, arrived from Greymouth yesterday with a full cargo of timber.
