HARBOURMASTER'S HOUSE.
TO THE EDITOR OP THE PRESS. Sir, —It is not my intention to enter into any discussion whatever with " A Wharf Rat" as to the policy or otherwise of building a harbourmaster a house. -The responsible public body which is most concerned in the matter is, I imagine, fully competent to determine the question without the interference or advice from anonymous outsiders. ' My previous letter was written in my private capacity as a citizen and taxpayer. " A Wharf Rat" now alleges that he has a right to express his opinion on a public body, a public man, and public funds, and yet he is not public spirited enough nor has he sufficient courage to sign his own name to his letters and permit us to judge what hie qualifications are in that respect. Such being the case lam quite satisfied to leave the public to judge whether his statements are worthy or* any consideration. Yours, &c, ' - - C. Hood Williams. Chester street.
