NEW PP.OCESS FOR THAWING. Pee*3 Association—By Telegraph—Copyri_t_, Loudon, January 25. Mr Weddel, tbe meat importer, states that Wiila aud Go., of Ports Said, have patented a process for thawing beef and .mutton, the experiments with which showed that thawed meat was virtually equal to chilled. Ibis expected the process will raise the ©rice a penny per lb, and it is also belieped the invention will overcome the objection raised by the War -Office against taking beef for Malta and Gibraltar. Specimens ox meat treated by the process will be exhibited at Smithfi.eld next week.
