Acceptances for the Canterbury Jockey Club's Meeting.that takes place oo January 2nd,-lose to-night, when not—-nations' for the Interval Stakes will be taken.

Acceptances for the Napier Park Meeting.close to-night. Au Revoir by his Palmerston Cup victory incurs a penalty of 51b for tne C.J.C. Midsummer Handicap. The colt is now on his way back to Christchorcb. The syndicate of Reefton sportsmen who did so remarkably well out of Liberator seems singularly fortunate in its purchases. The gelded son of Betrayer won for the firm shortly after his purchase the two chief races at the Reefton autumn fixture, the value of which more than paid tor him. Selling Liberator at a big price he was replaced by Geraint. The latter carrying his. new colours for the first time on Boxing Day landed the Inangahua Cup. A second victory on the concluding day at Reefton leaving a surplus over his purchase price. Besides his successes Geraint ran second in the chief handicap ou the «*econd day. The syndicate also own Regalia purchased at a small figure, and the North Canterbury bred gelding annexed both the hurdle races at his home quarters. At the Southland. Racing Club's meeting on B.xing Day, the Invercargill Cup was won by Remembrance, his stable companion Dora % seem ing the next most important handicap. Aldershot, who was barred ou the machine, captured the Guineas. Silvertail won the Hurdle Race, and Paramu tho Flying Handicap. Training is going on actively at Riccarton in view of next week's meetiug. The recent rain has greatly improved the tracks, which a while ago were very hard. Cutts has a big striug in hand, and as usual is first about in the morning. Johnny Faa is going really well, and Awarua Rose is fast improving. Like Shell, if he does not move with any freedom seems in capital condition, and there is no doubt Melasma is in good heart. Clanranald has apparently lost much of hi? dash and will hardly be seen at his best for some time, buc his stable companion, Cajo'ery, is looking and going well. Inez is now in fine fettle and is going as well as anything in her work. Liberator is likewise standing up to his tasks well, and is veryforward, but Vogen_ang is hardly lookiug as bright as he did a little time back.
