TO THE ELECTORS.
As there will be a large number of I electors who will record their votes for the first time on Tuesday, we ' would remind them that they may easily render their votes informal by failing to comply with the conditions. Christchurch is entitled to return j three members, and every voter may give his vote for three. As, however, there are eleven candidates, if voters wish to vote for THREE, they must carefully put - tkeir pencil through the namea of the other eight whom they do not wish to support; if they desire to vote for TWO, they must strike out the other nine ; if they wish only ONE returned they must strike out the names of the other ten. All the other electoral districts in Canterbury return ONE member each. In these districts, therefore, the voters must strike out the names of all the candidates on the voting paper but that of the ONE they desire to vote for.
