CHRISTCHURCH. Monday, Novembeb 27. (Before R. Beetham, Esq., R.M.) A Neglected Child. — Violet Harrington, aged three years, was brought up on account of having been foand in a house of ill-fame in Lyttelton street. After hearing the evidence the Bench ordered the child to be sent to Burnham, (Before S. D. Barker and W. Barnett, Esqra., J.P.'s.) Labcexy of a W____.ch_—M. Cortack was charged w'th the larceny of a wrench, value 4s sd, the property of Patrick Reilly, on Oct. Bth. Mr Burgess appeared for the accused and asked that he should be leniently dealt with. Sergeant-Major Mason said it was a first offence, aad was evidently
committed through the accused giving way to drink. The Bench convicted and discharged the accused. Druxkexxess.—Andrew Miller for this offence was fined 5s and 2s cab hire.
