MR COLLINS.—A QUERY.
TO THE EDITOR OF THE PRESS. Sir,—On /Friday I heard Mr Collins express approval of the Government Alcoholic Liquor Sale Control Act, which gives a three-fifths majority power to veto the sale of .drink. A few days before he said :—"For his own part he believed in the direct vote, but there were some matters which should! not be submitted to the vote of the community, and among them were what a man should- eat, drink, or wear. Of these matters the individual was the only competent judge, and though he were in a minority of one, the whole country had no right to.coerce him in these matters." What does he mean ? ■ Will he explain 'to a Puzzled Elector.
