ANGLERS' SOCIETY.
The annual meeting of the members of the Anglers' Society was held last night at Warner's Hotel. Dr. Moorhoueo occupied the chair. The annual report of the Committee woe read by the Secretary, Mr G. B. Ritchie. This stated that the Society was in a flourishing condition, the membership having reached about forty. Though the fishing during the past season had not been generally co tmccessful as in the preceding years, yet a fair amount of success had been met with. The Committee trusted th#t every angler would join .the Society, and co increase its sphere of usefulness. The report and balance sheet were adopted. The election of officers took plwse a* follows :—President, Mr W, H. Meddings ; Vice-Presidents, Messrs Ollivier and Hamer; Managing Committee, Messrs Spackman, Hunt, Alpe, SeareU, Seymour, and Dr. Moorhouse ; Secretary and Treasurer, Mr G. B. Ritchie (re-elected.) The arrangements for the annual fiehing competition were relegated to a Sab-Com-mittee, consisting of Dr. Moorhouse, Messrs Spackman, Major Conningbam, and Alpe. On the motion of Dr..MoWfcouse, it> r wfts resolved that the competition t>o held in show week. Some correspondence was read lay Mr Spackman with reference to the reserves at Lake Elleamere on which the aoglors' hats are erected. . The arrangements foe the fly and bait * competition was left to the Sub-Committee. The meeting then terminate*!.
