NEW BRIGHTON TRAM.
TO THE EDITOR OF THE PRESS. Sir,—As the summer is now fast approaching I should like, through the medium of your paper, to call the attention of the Directors of the New Brighton Tramway Company to the absolute necessity of watering the tram line. An immense number of people travel to and from Linwbod and ISew Brighton, and their comfort and convenience ehould receive attention from the Company. Even at this early stage of the spring one cannot ride from Linwood into town without being smothered in dust, aud Worcester street residents, as well as others who have to ride on the tram, dread the approach of the dry season. This is not by any means the first time the grievance has been ventilated, and I hope the Directors will see their way to send a water cart along once or twice a day during the summer to alleviate the sufferings of their patrons. The Chairman of Directors, who is a regular .passenger., will, lam sure, agree with mc as to the intolerable nuisance caused by the continuous cloud of dust in which the paseengers are enveloped throughout the whole ride after a few days of dry weather.—Yours, &c M A Regular Passe^ee.
