GENERAL ASSEMBLY.
The Legislative Council, after dealing with a few unimportant measures, went into Committee on the Industrial Bill, and having excised the compulsory arbitration clause reported progress with leave to sit again, after which the Council rose. In the House of Representatives the previous night's sitting was prolonged till 3.50 a. in. The Railway Bill passed through Committee, Before rising Mr T. Mackenzie made a further explanation about the division incident, and on the motion of the Premier the resolution regarding it carried earlier, was expunged freni the Journals of the House. At the afternoon sitting Mr Seddon laid the Public Works Statement on the table. A Committee was appointed to discuss with the Committee from the Legislative Council the amendments in the Liquor Bill. Some local Bills were advanced a stage. In the evening the Railways Bill was read a third time by a small majority and passed. Mr Seddon brought Colonel Fox's report before the House, and it was under debate when the Telegraph Office closed at 2 ami.
