THE MAYORAL BALL.
Last night at the Team street Hall His Worship the Mayor and Mrs George entertained a large number of citizens at, a fancy dress ball, in continuation of the festivities which have been held in connection with his thirtieth birthday. The ball was an exceedingly pretty one, the costumes, without exception, being very good. The costume meeting tie greatest amount of curiosity and comment was one referring to the grant of the franchise to women. The gentleman who wore it bad on a cap and hair arranged to look like a lady, and also a skirt covering a portion of the garments which were indicative of the masculine sex. On his back the legend appeared " Your Future Candidate." The Mayor and Mayoress received their guests at the door, and when the hall was filled it presented a most animated and pretty appearance.
