A couple of weight-for-age evenqp*the, Craven Plate, one mile and a quarter, and the Wycooibe Stakes, one mile and three-furlong-i—are down for competition at the A.J.C. Meeting to-day. The Is the richest prize, and no penalties have to be put up. Such being the case,, Loyalty will no doabt take part, and should get home. Weiztib • tor - age wiuners are penalised in the Wycombe Stakes, while maiden performers have an allowance made. Besides these races, there Is an eveut for three-year-olds, the Biennial Stakes, in which the Derby and other wiuners have extras put on them. The other items are the Suburban Handicap and Sydney Handicap, and it hurdle race. JS r one of Mr Stead's horses will run. They are under orders to return by first tjteauier.
Nominations for the Plumpton Park Racing and Trotting Ciub's spring fiat race raeetiug close on Saturday ac the Empire Hotel. Particulars of the races appear in our advertising columns. In reference to the disqualification of Mr Rutherford having been taken off by the S.C. Jockey Club, it was Mr G. Rutherford, not Mr E. Rutherford, as the Press Association telegram stated.
