SHIPPING ACCIDENTS IN EASTERN SEAS.
Confirmation of the dreadful accident to the Spanish sbeamer Don Juan, on a voyage from Amoy to Manilla, has been received. Over 200 Chinese passengers are now stated to have perished when the ship was destroyed by fire. H.M.S. Plover collided with the steamer Ooriya in Hongkong harbour on the 4th ulbimo, and sustained damage to her bows. The British. India Company's steamer Sirsa was run inbo by the steamer Aurora on the 16th ultimo, at Singapore, and both vessels suffered damaged to their plating.— Exchange.
